During the long Easter weekend, the Follonica Nautical Club hosted the Hobie Cat National Regatta, Hobie Dragoon, which coloured the gulf.
More than 300 people were involved, including athletes, coaches, and support staff, in addition to a multitude of spectators, both locals and tourists, who attended the event populating the beaches.
The 65 crews from Italy, France, Germany, and Austria competed in several races during all three days of racing, divided by class.
For the Hobie Cats, identifiable from the ground by their colourful rainbow sails, the French crew of Thiene Arnaud, Siguret Ludovi of the Hobie Racing School triumphed followed by the Romans Degli Uberti Caterina, Rogge Diana of Tognazzi Marine Village ASD and Gini Gianmarco, Mustacchi Elisa of the Sailing Center 3V.
For the Hobie Dragoons, youth class, one-two of Tognazzi Marine Village ASD with Trevisan Maria Giulia, Masi Sofi in first position and Cacciotti Alice Lan, Recchioni Baiocchi Elsa in second position, in third place Marras Roberto, Maffei Mattia of C. V. Windsurfing Club Cagliari ASD.
We thank all the athletes for the beautiful days of sport, the organization and the staff of the Follonica Nautical Club who made the event a success, Bagni Golfo for the availability of the beach, Ultima Spiaggia for providing a welcome dish of pasta to the hungry racers and for the availability of the beach, the Municipal Administration, the Hobie Cat Class and our sponsors Grimaldi Sardegna and Calosi Energia.
