SPECIAL TRAINING EVENT…
‘GIRL POWER’ – HOBIE 16 TEACHING
Part 1…Thursday 22nd July from 5:30pm. Part 2… Saturday 14th August from 9:30am.
Dear all,
We are delighted you to let you know that top Hobie women sailors Elsa and Chloe Swetenham are running a H16 Teach In for Girls only (no men allowed!)
Interestingly there are around 30 of you involved sailing with the RCIYC H/Fleet. There are 2 sessions planned, 12 participants for each one. Some will have use of a H16, doesn’t matter if you don’t.
Crews and helms can be mixed and matched unless there is a team that would like to train together.
The ‘Teach In’ will cover helming and crewing techniques, there may be a crew for instance who would like to try helming. Included will be boat handling, rigging for performance, effective sail setting, starts, mark rounding, trapezing techniques the principal of CAT and the 3 W’s and more. It will be (Girl) power packed with drills, lots of tips and information.
As many of you are aware Elsa has won Women’s C.I. Hobie Champs, represented the RCIYC and Jersey at European Championships on H/Dragoons and H16’s and came an excellent 4th in the H16 World Youth Champs in Florida. Chloe is also a top helm and first class crew and has also represented the Island in major International Championships on both Dragoons and H16’s.
They both look forward to welcoming you to this first ‘Girl Power’ H16 Teach In, sharing their extensive sailing and racing knowledge and helping to improve your Hobie sailing with a fun element involved.
The fee is £15.00 per person each session. Duration will be approx. two and a half hours .
Interested? please email me Gordon directly and copy RCIYC office no later than Tuesday next 20th July. Places are on a first come first served basis.
Fair winds,
Gordon
