Fantastic exposure, 4 pages in the JP, fab action pics from Dave Ferguson plus ‘Speedy Seas’ Channel Television footage also in International Yachting publications and went worldwide on Hobie sites. This quote from the JEP says it all…”It was an absolute spectacle, with a packed fleet…competition was tight with plenty of battles showcasing Jersey’s immense sailing talent” Congratulations to the class winners and a massive thanks to the volunteer helpers, all 21 of them on Committee boat, ribs, beach and registration. BEST OF LUCK to our teams at the H16 British Nationals this weekend in Poole. Ollie and Megan will be defending the title they brilliantly won last year, Luke and Steph will be giving it their best after their excellent podium second, Juliette and brother Russell will be sailing in the event for the first time. Very good full page feature in last nights JEP about the team, the Fleet and the Club!…Go team Jersey…!
THE CITCO ROUND ISLAND RACE is taking place on Sunday where there is a record turnout of yachts participating including several French boats. There are 7 Hobies in the race 3 Wildcats, a Tiger and 3 H16’s. The conditions are looking pretty good, records could be broken in the approx 60 mile race including tacks. Certainly worth viewing along the north coast, Corbiere or Noirmont. Start from St Aubin’s bay at 10:00am with the Cats 10 mins later, racing anticlockwise. The record is 3 hrs 7 mins, set by a Hobie 18 Tiger. There is also a Hobie handicap trophy to race for.
H/DRAGOON TRAINING is on next Wednesday 20th August at 4:15pm. Here is a link to a short video kindly taken by Mic at the last event. They are certainly having fun and learning at the same time! https://youtu.be/YamQ5lFXOBk (https://youtu.be/YamQ5lFXOBk).
