Day 3 report


Day 3 of the Multi-Europeans is now concluded, and with that first titles have been assigned.

The day started at 11 for all classes with shifty windy and intensity around 14-20 knots and divided in two course area: on the Bravo all the Hobie Cat 16 Classes sailed 4 races, while on the Charlie the Dragoons concluded 4 races and the Hobie Cat 14 sailed 3 races.

The Italians continue to lead the Hobie 16 Youth SPI fleet, and in fact Gianmarco Gini and Elisa Mustacchi won the title, despite they received two early start disqualifications. Second place for Valerio Tomassi and Eva Maria Orsolini, while at the third Filippo Palumbo with Gaia Merli.

In the parallel series Hobie 16 Youth Non-spi Cup without European Championship ranking, the Surendorf sisters Charlotte and Wiebke Finkemeyer took a clear lead over another German team Eske Schermer and Stina Schermer with Dutch team Floor and Francien Holleman taking the last podium position. Worth to note the podium for Hobie 16 Youth Non-spi Cup were all women teams! 💪

The podium for Masters title became an all German affair. Jens Goritz/Anke Delius lead after eight races in total ahead of Christian Diederich/Christina Schober, while third place for Detlef Mohr and Karen Wichardt. Jens Goritz won the Great Grand Master title too.

Best team in EHCA Spi Cup fleet turned out to be the Austrians Klemens and Gundi Kitzmueller, followed by the Danish Nicklas Heide and Jonathan Møller in second place and in third place Mikkel Stampe-Nielsen and Emma Chandler Hansen also Denmark.

Still other 2 days of races ahead for Dragoons and HC14.

The Italian strength in the beach catamarans was underlined by the youngsters Leonardi Vascellari/Gaia Benedetta Frau in the Hobie Dragoon with 2 wins in four races.

A mixed podium could emerge at the Hobie 14 European Championship if the results of the first days continue, at the moment Tanja Rindt is in the lead of the fleet.

Day 4 will see the start of the Hobie Cat 16 Qualifications series, with 43 boats on the starting line racing to get their spot for the Gold fleet.
