A stunning setting, a challenging breeze, and a touch of mystery defined the second round of the Hobie 14 EuroCup 2025, as 17 teams from six nations gathered at Bostalsee, Germany for the Dinsdale Trophy.
Held on a forest-framed lake shimmering under strong sun and light winds, the event offered more than just racing. Hosted in style by Segelclub Nord-Saar, sailors enjoyed great hospitality, legendary paella, and the unmistakable spirit of Hobie camaraderie.
Conditions were as tricky as they were unpredictable, with shifts and calm patches testing every sailor’s intuition. First-timers to the lake learned quickly that “the lake gives and the lake takes away.” And as tradition now has it, the Witch of Bostalsee emerged to reveal the final results—with a wink and a potion!
Congratulations to Daniel Borg, who mastered the conditions for the overall win. He was joined on the podium by Klaus Zuchel and André Hauschke, rounding out the top three in a hard-fought contest.
The fleet now looks ahead to the grand finale—the Hobie 14 European Championship, coming up August 14–17 in Ustka, Poland.
Hobie sailing at its best—sun, spirit, and a bit of magic.
