What a Weekend! ⛵☀🍰
From June 20–22, Hobie sailors from all corners of Denmark gathered in Egensedybet for a championship weekend that delivered sunshine, solid wind, great racing, amazing food – and all the Hobie vibes we live for.
🌞 Friday – The Warm-Up
Team Skovshoved kicked things off early, cruising from the east coast and enjoying lunch in Otterup before rigging up in perfect summer weather. The fjord delivered 4–8 m/s and pure sunshine for a great warm-up session on the water.
Later, more teams rolled in, including the Esbjerg crew and Olsen gang. With snacks, wine, and the evening sun, the first night set the tone: relaxed, social, and full of laughs. 🍷🌅
🥐 Saturday – Let the Races Begin!
We woke up to blue skies and light winds – and a legendary breakfast setup ☕🥪. True to Hobie style, we all made our way (eventually 😄) out to the course, where racing started around 11:30.
Five races were sailed in gradually increasing breeze, ending in classic double-trapeze action, a few capsizes, and at least one broken jib halyard block (you know who you are 😅).
By the time PRO Anders Lund called it for the day, we were perfectly cooked – especially after some wild gusts on the way in (aka “death rays” 🌪). Back on shore, the cold drinks, homemade cake, and shade were pure gold. 🍻🍰
At 19:00, we sat down to a delicious cold buffet and long-table dinner 🍽. The youth got competitive with Secret Hitler 🎲, while the rest of us shared stories, sail trim theories, and (mostly true) tales from the racecourse.
By 22:00, tent city went quiet… and by 22:05, snoring had begun 😴⛺
🌬 Sunday – Full Send Finale
Sunday brought more sun, steady breeze, and five picture-perfect races — especially favorable near Enebærodde. A few capsizes here and there, but mostly fast, clean racing with plenty of downwind blasts and swarming gennakers 🪰😄
We ended the regatta on a high and glided back to shore for fresh bread and the grand prize ceremony 🏆🥖

🥉 Mikkel & Emma – Home turf heroes with flair!
Shoutout to the top 4 – with Fyn and Jutland claiming the top two spots, and Copenhagen coming in hot right after. 💪🏽
