What a weekend during the Open Dutch Hobie Championship!
This past weekend at the Haagse Kust Zeilvereniging in The Hague were held the Dutch Hobie 16 & Hobie Dragoon Championships, and it was a classic Hobie-event. On Saturday we sailed in more than 15 knots of wind and we were able to sail 6 races. Sunday the weather turned around and in light winds 4 races were held. It was a tight battle until the very last race!
Both more experienced and new youth teams were represented: it was beautiful to see how our Hobie-community came together both on and off the water. Saturday the evening ended with a paella, DJ and dancing till the sun went down.
On Sunday afternoon we were able to crown Maurice Schwarz & Cristine Dieckmann (GER) as our new Dutch Hobie 16 champions followed up by Vincent & Chris Huntelman and on third place Floor & Francien Holleman. The Hobie 16 Youth trophy went to Benji Wilkens & Floris Aleman. The new Hobie Dragoon Dutch champions are Pjotr Simons & Berend de Vlugt.
