The International Hobie Class Association (IHCA) is pleased to announce that the Notice of Race for the 18th Hobie 14 World Championship, 24th Hobie 16 World Championship, and Hobie Dragoon International Cup is now available.
The championships will be held from 27 June to 8 July 2027 at the beautiful La Ballena Alegre Resort, Sant Pere Pescador, Girona, Spain. With the Notice of Race now published, all event dates have been officially confirmed, allowing competitors, families, and supporters to begin planning their trip with confidence.
Accommodation bookings at La Ballena Alegre Resort are now open. As late June and early July are among the resort’s busiest holiday periods, competitors are strongly encouraged to reserve their accommodation as soon as possible. Booking early will ensure the best choice of accommodation and help avoid disappointment, as the resort is expected to be in high demand during the European summer.
The Organising Authority and IHCA are continuing to work on international shipping and logistics for competitors wishing to transport their boats to Spain. Further information regarding shipping options, container schedules, and freight arrangements will be released as soon as they become available.
The 2027 championships promise to be one of the most exciting Hobie events in recent years, bringing together the world’s best Hobie sailors in one of Europe’s premier sailing destinations. Whether you are competing in the Hobie 14, Hobie 16, or introducing the next generation of sailors through the Hobie Dragoon International Cup, this will be an event not to miss.
