The 2026 Hobie Multi Europeans Are Officially Open

Eu26 Opening

The wait is finally over — the 2026 Hobie Multi Europeans are officially OPEN!

Teams from across Europe and around the world (Australians, Tahitian, New Zealand and Canadian have joined the fleet) have made their way to Maubuisson, France, bringing their boats, their passion and, of course, the unmistakable Hobie spirit with them. Over the past days, the event site has gradually come to life as sailors arrived, prepared their equipment and got their boats ready for the competition ahead.

With its beautiful location on Lake Maubuisson, the venue is already proving to be the perfect setting for the European Championships. Some teams have taken the opportunity to get out on the water before racing officially begins, testing their boats and enjoying the fantastic conditions. Sunshine, a good breeze and plenty of smiles have provided a first taste of what the coming days may have in store.

Official Opening in Maubuisson
The 2026 Hobie Multi Europeans were officially opened this evening with the Opening Ceremony, bringing sailors, teams, organisers and supporters together to celebrate the start of the event.
Following the ceremony, everyone had the chance to relax and connect during a social get-together at the Club. Over a glass of Bordeaux wine or a beer, conversations quickly turned to boats, sailing conditions and the excitement surrounding the days ahead.

Events like these are an important part of what makes the Hobie community so special. While competition on the water will be at the heart of the coming days, the Hobie Way of Life is equally about friendship, shared experiences and bringing sailors from different countries together.

The Youth Fleets Take to the Water Tomorrow

With crews from different countries coming together, the HC16 Youth and Hobie Dragoon fleets will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, fight for every position and gain valuable experience on the racecourse.

The combination of youth energy, competitive spirit and the fantastic sailing environment of Maubuisson should make for an exciting opening day. All eyes will be on the water as the first starts get underway and the battle for the European titles begins.
